Getting started
Everything you need to set up your profile and start collaborating.
Add a profile photo
Click your avatar on your profile page to upload. A clear headshot or performance photo works best.
Add instruments and genres
This is how other musicians find you in search. Add the instruments you play and the genres you work in directly on your profile.
Write a bio
Be specific about your experience and what collaboration looks like for you. A few sentences is enough.
Link your music
Add URLs to your Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, or Bandcamp profiles in the Links section on your profile. These appear publicly and are tracked as discovery clicks.
Showcase your releases
Use the Discography section to list albums, EPs, or singles you've contributed to. You can also invite other GND Lift members to be credited on your releases.
Not on streaming platforms yet?
Create a free account and upload tracks directly — no distributor needed. Great for demos, mixes, and work-in-progress recordings.
Set up a free artist page and upload your music at any price (including free). You keep the majority of sales revenue — ideal for albums, EPs, and merch.
Spotify doesn't accept direct uploads. Release through a digital distributor first — DistroKid (~$23/yr), TuneCore, or CD Baby are popular options. Once your music is live, claim your Spotify for Artists profile.
Same distributor route as Spotify. Release through DistroKid, TuneCore, or CD Baby, then claim your Apple Music for Artists profile for analytics and artist image control.
Add a booking button to your profile
Turn on the Booking toggle in your profile sidebar. This adds a visible "Contact for Booking" button to your public profile — useful for session musicians, performers, and teachers.
When someone submits a booking request, you'll get an email notification. All inquiries appear in Booking Inquiries on your dashboard.
Search for musicians nearby
Filter by instrument, genre, location, and availability. You can search within a specific radius or nationally.
Send connection requests
Found someone interesting? Send a connection request from their profile. Once accepted, you can message them directly.
Invite musicians to join
Share your personal invite link from the Dashboard to bring colleagues onto the platform.
Message connections
Start a conversation with any of your connections. Keep it specific — mention a project, a style, or a date range to get better responses.
Give and receive endorsements
Endorse musicians you've worked with
Go to a musician's profile and click "Endorse." Endorsements appear publicly on profiles and signal trust within the community.
Ask for endorsements
You can request an endorsement from any connection via their profile page. A brief personal message increases the chance of a response.
